
Sina Bari MD had a circuitous journey to his current career. He began learning computer programming while translating his mother's computer science textbooks into English when his father passed away when he was eight years old. He had mastered advanced UNIX networking by the time he was in high school and had used early parallel supercomputers to create software for biological simulation. Sina performed intellectually while attending medical school and college, thanks to her work in IT.
Dr Bari was one of just three individuals selected to participate in the prestigious Stanford Hospital and Clinics' expedited residency program for plastic and reconstructive surgery after graduating at the top of his class at Stanford School of Medicine. He was involved in the Stanford Bioinnovation initiative, creating commercially available devices to lower infection levels during peritoneal dialysis.
